Sears Canada To Pull Plug On Remaining Stores
Sears Canada is apologizing for the job losses, but it has decided to pull the plug on efforts to keep the company afloat.
It is asking for court approval to liquidate its roughly 130 remaining stores, including the location at Devonshire Mall at Windsor.
That will leave approximately 12,000 employees without a job.
The embattled retailer has been operating under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act since June and could not find a viable buyer.
