Signing Day At Holy Names Catholic High School

Seven grade 12 students for Holy Names Catholic High School have signed athletic sponsorships for post-secondary education.

A ceremony was held at the south Windsor high school Thursday morning.

18-year-old Gabriello Calamita is heading to Saginaw Valley State University this fall for soccer.

He tells AM800 sports, the university was the right fit for him.

"I've visited a couple times but deep down when I first visited the campus, it wasn't like the other campuses I visited," says Calamita.  "Especially with their facilities and the dorms and everything, everything that came with the school was just awesome."

Jordyn Dawson says Madonna University in Michigan had everything she was looking for.

"It has a great program," she says.  "It's what I wanted to go into the bio-chemistry and had an awesome volleyball team," says Dawson.  "It's just something that really interested me.  I went to a camp when I was younger there and it's just a great school."
