SIU Investigating Death in Chatham
The province's Special Investigations Unit is looking into the death of a 35-year-old man in Chatham.
The SIU has released preliminary information from its investigation and say the death occurred on August 6th.
The SIU says EMS attended a home in the area of Victoria Avenue and Grand Avenue East around 7pm to tend to a man in medical distress.
According to the SIU, paramedics requested assistance from Chatham-Kent police due to the man's behaviour.
The man was taken to hospital in an ambulance with police and shortly after arriving at the hospital, the man's vital signs were absent and he was later pronounced dead.
The SIU has three investigators and two forensic investigators looking into the incident.
A post-mortem took place on Wednesday.
The SIU is also urging anyone who may have any video evidence to upload that video through the SIU website.
