A section of Yorktown Square on Grand Marais in south Windsor has re-opened after a fire behind the plaza earlier this week.

About 10 businesses in the plaza were impacted but have since re-opened after the fire Tuesday morning knocked out power.

Chief Fire Prevention Officer John Lee says a pile of cardboard behind one of the businesses was set on fire.

Damage is pegged at $20,000 and the cause has been listed as suspicious.

The Windsor Police Arson Unit is investigating.

Investigators believe the fire was started between 4am and 5:45am.
