Speeding Motorcyclist Tries To Evade Windsor Police
It was a scene right out of the movies as Windsor police tried to stop a motorcyclist speeding down Riverside Dr Sunday night.
Officers saw the motorcycle being driven well over the speed limit on Riverside Dr near Goyeau at 7:45pm.
Police were able to get a licence plate number and activated their emergency lights and sirens.
But instead of stopping, the motorcycle driver kept speeding and then drove onto the grass, then along a sidewalk and dangerously close to pedestrians before driving back onto the road.
Officers decided not to pursue the motorcycle for public safety reasons.
10 minutes later, the officers spotted the motorcycle, with the male driver and female passenger, in a parking lot near Lassaline Ave and East Gate Estates.
Police found some marijuana and methamphetamine.
45-year-old Jackie Todd Burkoski is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while disqualified, breach of recognizance, possession of suspected marijuana and possession of suspect methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking along with several Highway Traffic Act offences.
