The Windsor Spitfires and Kingston Frontenacs have completed a blockbuster trade that sends forward Gabriel Vilardi and defenceman Sean Day to Kingston in exchange for highly-touted, 2017 first-round pick Cody Morgan and five draft picks: Mississauga's 2nd in 2020, Kingston's 2nd rounders in 2022, 2024 and 2025, Kingston's 3rd in 2020 and Kingston's 3rd in 2023 (conditional).

Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel says taking the opportunity to acquire a high-end talent like Morgan and high draft picks was much needed.
"Cody is going to be a very good player in our league and we really needed to restock some of the picks we spent last year to go for it."
Cody Morgan 16, is a 5'11 and 187-pound centre from Richmond Hill that played in the Toronto Junior Canadiens AAA program before going #12 overall to the Frontenacs back in April. He will arrive in Windsor on Tuesday and make the Eastern Ontario trip this week with the team that includes a return to Kingston, along with games in Peterborough and Ottawa.
