Spitfires Host The Soo In Potential Playoff Preview

The Windsor Spitfires are on home ice tonight to face the Soo Greyhounds in OHL action.

The Spits dropped a 5-2 decision in Sault Ste. Marie last weekend.

Assistant Coach Jarrod Smith says they've seen the Greyhounds a lot this season and could face them in the first round of the playoffs.

Smith says Windsor has to stay with its system. "Sending a message that we're not going to be an easy opponent in the first round, I think that's most important for our group.  Especially with a young group that we don't make it easy on them, they've got a lot of skilled talented players, that we don't want to give them a lot of room out there, a lot of time and space because they'll make you pay."

Smith says their message to the players has consistently been to finish as high as they can in the standings.

He says they could face Sault Ste. Marie, Sarnia or Kitchener in the first round of the playoffs, depending on where they finish in the standings.

AM800 CKLW has the broadcast from tonight's game at the WFCU Centre beginning with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
