A mainstay of three Memorial Cup championships is leaving the Windsor Spitfires.
The club has announced Joey Garland is stepping aside after 13 seasons.
The Carbonear, Newfoundland, native joined the Spitfires during the 2005-2006 season and was part of CHL titles in 2009, 2010 and 2017.
General manager Warren Rychel says Garland has been a stalwart for the team.
"He's done so many good things. His professionalism has always been outstanding," says Rychel. "For him, for anyone in his line of work, at any level of the game, to win three Cups is a remarkable achievement."
Rychel says the team will miss Garland's presence on and off the ice.
A replacement will be named in the coming weeks.
