Spitfires Winless Skid Continues

Windsor's winless streak has hit three games after a 4-1 loss to the Saginaw Spirit.

Cole Coskey opened the scoring on the power play for the Spirit midway through the first period and Brady Gilmour added his ninth of the year in the second period to make it 2-0 Saginaw after 40 minutes.

Spitfires' rookie Jean-Luc Foudy added a power play goal of his own to give Windsor a glimmer of hope to open the third period, but Coskey scored his second goal of the game and Damien Giroux added an insurance marker to secure the Spirit's third straight victory.

Windsor remains four points up on the Erie Otters for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Spitfires will get a chance to expand that lead in Erie Saturday — puck drops at 7 p.m.
