Spits Coach Calls It A Moment He will Never Forget.
Windsor Spitfires Coach Trevor Letowski calls it "a moment he will never forget."
Letowski was behind the bench as an assistant coach for Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships as Canada took the gold medal.
He says the game was close and tight checking.
"It was a very intense atmosphere, I think there was so much build-up for that game," he says. "You go there to win a gold medal."
Part of this year's tournament included the first outdoor game in Buffalo between Canada and the U.S which took place in snowy conditions. He tells AM800 Sports, he'd rather not see that again.
"I just think there are so much preparations that go into the tournament, you want the good ice and you want to be where you play your games."
Canada won the gold medal over Sweden 3-1.
