Suspect Arrested After Damaged Air Conditioners Block Downtown Alley

A 37-year old Windsor man faces charges after two air conditioning units were pushed off a rooftop in the area of Ouellette Ave. and University Ave. in the downtown core.

Just before 8am Tuesday, officers were flagged down and told a pair of air conditioning units had been pushed off a roof and were blocking an alley.

The copper had been ripped out of the units and there were loose wires dangling from the roof.

Officers learned the suspect was still on the roof and a Windsor Fire and Rescue aerial ladder truck was used to help police reach him and make the arrest.

Charges include theft and mischief under $5,000.
