Suspect Wanted For A Windsor Kidnapping Arrested In Eastern Ontario

A Tecumseh man wanted for a kidnapping in Windsor has been arrested in eastern Ontario.

Sunday, July 29 at 4am, the Bancroft OPP and Peterborough OPP began pursuing a vehicle for dangerous driving after it had failed to stop for police.

The vehicle had also been reported stolen in Leamington.

After police deployed the spike belt, the suspect fled on foot but was arrested after a foot chase.

Police seized stolen items from the vehicle including firearms.

Anthony John Pompa, 25, has been chraged with five counts of possession of stolen property, flight while pursued by police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Last week, Windsor police issued an arrest warrant for Pompa who was wanted for an alleged kidnapping on Wyandotte St. East.

Pompa was wanted in Windsor on charges of kidnapping, robbery, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
