Ten Friends Diner On The Move

A diner that helps mental health survivors in Windsor-Essex is on the move.

Ten Friends Diner is re-locating to the corner of Wyandotte St. E at Moy.

The restaurant has called the Canadian Mental Health Association building on Windsor Ave. home for the past five years but was asked to relocate in mid-July.

Diner Officer Manager Giles Fleetwood says CMHA is expanding its office space but the diner was also looking to expand.

"We're doing fairly well but we always want to improve our work and we always want to improve on our services to our community," says Fleetwood.

He adds the new home is an existing restaurant and the sale is turn key.

"We put out some pretty broad feelers on where we could move and when we found this place, had actually just opened up they were actually surprised we actually found it so quickly," says Fleetwood.  "We thought that it's a pretty central location and it would give us a good neighbourhood to work with."

Fleetwood says the goal is to have the diner open at its new location the first week of September.

2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the diner.
