Three Windsor Residents Charged With Cottage Rental Fraud
Eight people including three from Windsor have been charged with fraud by the RCMP.
It stems from a year long investigation by the London Financial Crimes Unit looking into a cottage rental scam.
75 people from across Canada were defrauded out of $68,000.
Police say the victims sent email money transfers to the suspects for rental homes that didn't belong to them.
The fraud was discovered in some cases when the families arrived at the vacation property.
21-year old Halle Beattie, 21-year old Tamiwa Kanyenda and 26-year old Matthew Jonnson are charged with fraud over $5000.
