Tigers Drop Double-Header in Chicago
Jose Abreu belted a three-run homer with two outs in the 12th inning to give the Chicago White Sox a 9-6 win over the Detroit Tigers and a doubleheader sweep in Chicago.
Yoan Moncada and Ryan Cordell homered twice and drove in three runs for Chicago, which has won three in-a-row and five-of-six. Jose Ruiz got the win.
Nicholas Castellanos had four hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in three for Detroit.
Nick Ramirez, the seventh Tigers pitcher, took the loss. Detroit has dropped 11-of-12.
James McCann, Yolmer Sanchez and Ryan Cordell each had two hits and two RBI as the White Sox defeated the Tigers 7-5 in the first game of a MLB day-night doubleheader.
In other MLB action, the Toronto Blue Jays doubled up the Boston Red Sox 6-3 on Wednesday.
