Trail Expansion Planned In Tecumseh
Cyclists in Tecumseh may soon have a new place to pedal.
The town is looking at expanding the Ganatchio Trail by almost 2.5 kilometers along Riverside Dr. to Lakewood Park.
"Residents have been asking for improvements" says Mayor Gary McNamara. "I can tell you we've had many requests for a long time for improving our trails for biking and cyclists and so forth. We've seen the results of what we've done at Lakewood Park. That's what people want, they're paying for it obviously, but that's what they want."
McNamara says "it's also about safety. First in mind is more of our residents are riding bikes. Not only adults, but as families and what better way of making it more safe for them to utilize to make sure that we have a trail system on Riverside Dr."
The price tag is $775,000, so a public meeting will take place before the project is approved.
