Two Ceremonies In Windsor To Remember Polytechnique Massacre


Unifor Local 444 is remembering a worker who died at the hands of her spouse 20 years ago.

The union's women's committee is holding a memorial ceremony Wednesday morning to honour Mary Lou, a Chrysler Plant 6 worker who was killed by her spouse.

The service will also honour the 28th anniversary of the L'Ecole Polytechnique massacre in Montreal where 13 engineering students and one worker were killed.

The ceremony is takes place at the Memorial Stone for Mary Lou at the corner of Ypres and Chrysler Centre at 11:36am.

December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and action to end violence against women.

The University of Windsor will hold a candlelight vigil at 5:30pm at the Memorial of Hope between Dillon and Essex Halls.
