Two High-Profile Liberal Cabinet Ministers Won't Seek Re-election

There will be two high-profile Liberal names missing from the ballots in the 2018 provincial election.

Deputy Premier Deb Matthews announced she will not run again but will continue to serve as the Liberals' campaign co-chair.

Treasury Board President 70-year-old Liz Sandals says after spending 30 years in elected office, she has decided to retire.

In recent polls, the Liberals have been behind the Progressive Conservatives, but Sandals and Matthews say they believe their party will win again.

Last month, Economic Development Minister Brad Duguid announced he would not seek re-election.
