Two Toronto Residents Charged With Fraud At Devonshire Mall
Two people from Toronto have been arrested after an alleged fraud at Devonshire Mall.
Police were called on Tuesday at 10am after a man and woman attended the Guest Services booth to buy mall gift cards. They claimed the cards were for relatives who live in the area.
The woman later returned and tried to buy more cards but was denied because her identification was expired. Further investigation determined the just-purchased gift cards had been used at mall stores and had been bought with an altered credit card.
As a result, the pair is charged with fraud under $5,000 and breach of probation. The male suspect faces an additional charge of possession of controlled substance.
