U-Haul Assisting Local Flood Victims

U-Haul is assisting residents impacted by flooding in Windsor-Essex.

The company is offering free self storage and U-Box containers for 30 days.

U-Haul Western Ontario President David Anstett says the company is offering a safe, dry place for residents to store their belongings.

"A lot of our people who work in Windsor were impacted as well so I thought geez, there's other people we can help," says Anstett, adding there's plenty of space for damaged goods. "What they can salvage, they can get into storage and get their basements fixed up and then get their stuff back out of storage and into their homes."

Anstett says a U-Box is a portable container that can be taken directly to your house.

He describes it as a 4 ft x 8 ft storage room on wheels.

There are four U-Haul locations in Windsor.
