United Way Inches Closer To Campaign Goal
A boost to the 2016 United Way Campaign in Windsor-Essex.
Ford Windsor, its employees and retirees at Unifor Local 200 and 240 have donated $560,733 to the 2016 campaign.
"That equates to 8,000 people in the community who can access services right here at home," says United Way Campaign CEO Lorraine Goddard.
The donation was announced at the Windsor Engine Plant.
"It is people who come in every day and who are very giving. When there is a requirement in the community, they are the first and it continues to show year after year, the commitment to the community," says Tony Savoni, Ford Windsor Operations Site Manager.
So far, $4.8-million has been raised toward the $5.3-million campaign.
The campaign wraps up at the end of March.
