University And College Join Entrepreneurship Forces

An informal relationship between St. Clair College and the University of Windsor to help entrepreneurs is being formalized and expanded.

Starting this month, the university's Entrepreneurship, Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) will extend its reach to the college.

The programs have been available to college students before, but this will build on the relationship.

Wen Teoh is the Venture Start Director at the EPICentre and says this opens the doors to entrepreneurs from both institutions.

She says they'll be altering some of their programs to match up with both groups of students.

Teoh says some of the collaboration will involve making some physical space changes: "the Genesis Centre, the location is going to be branded as EPIC Genesis so so it's going to be one of EPICentre's facilities we will keep the centre open half-time but we will have staff there for students to drop in when they have any questions"

Teoh says between 30 and 50 students have been helped at EPICentre in the past 2 years.

With the addition of the college site, there are now 3 locations of the EPICentre.
