According to police, a male suspect was allegedly assaulting the women on the front porch, he pulled one of them into the house and continued to assault her but she was able to get away.

When police arrived, the suspect went in the house and closed the door.

Officers say they could hear the sound of items possibly being damaged and were trying to talk to the suspect but he refused to exit — officers then saw a fire had been started in the house which they were able to extinguish, only for the suspect to restart it.

A 38 year old man from Windsor is facing multiple charges including assault, assault with a weapon, arson and 10 counts of breach of probation.

The Windsor Police Arson Unit and Major Crime Branch continue to investigate.
