UPDATE: No One Hurt After A Fire In An Oven Unit At ANM Industries in Windsor

Windsor fire crews worked quickly to contain a fire in an industrial building.

Crews were called around 1:30pm Wednesday to ANM Industries on Central Dr, south of Tecumseh Rd after a fire in an oven unit.

"The fire had extended from the oven into the ventilation system and into the duct work and we were able to confine to the oven and duct work," says Deputy Chief of Operations Doug Goodings.

Worker Brent Kawapisz  says the fire alarms went off and the building was evacuated.

"Total there are about 100 people, about 30 workers on shift right now and everyone got out safely which was our main concern."

He says fire crews were called because smoke was spotted coming out of one of the exhaust fans.

"There was no open flame in the building, it was all smoke inside the duct work and that was where it was all contained."

ANM Industries is a powder coating facility.

The estimate of damage isn't known.

Central Ave was closed northbound and southbound between Ypres Ave. and Grand Marais Rd. E as fire crews dealt with the incident.
