UPDATE: Panthers Part Ways with Boughner

The Florida Panthers have fired Bob Boughner as the team's head coach.

An official statement was released by the team via Twitter Sunday morning.

The Windsor native has been the bench boss in Florida for the past two seasons — missing the playoffs and finishing the 2019 season with a record of 36-32-14.

A Tweet from George Richards of The Athletic points to another Windsor native taking the helm.

The team is rumoured to be in "serious talks" with Joel Quenneville and a decision could come sometime Monday.

Quenneville was fired early into his twelfth season with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018.

He's a three time Stanley Cup champion.
