UPDATE: Wind Warning Ended For Windsor-Essex
A wind warning from Environment Canada is ended for Windsor-Essex.
The warning was issued with gusts expected to reach up to 90 km/h in the afternoon knocking down several trees branches across the region, including on southbound Ouellette at Tecumseh and at Pilette and Seminole.
"The gusts to 90km/hour is our threshold to issue the wind warning," says Environment Canada Severe Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson. "The reason for that is that studies have shown that once wind gusts get to that strengh, shingles are torn off roofs and branches can be torn down."
Wires and trees are also down on Front Road near Laurier Drive in LaSalle.
