UPDATE: Windsor Police Dog Kato Helps To Nab Suspect In A Crash

Notch one up for the Windsor Police Canine Unit for helping to nab a suspect fleeing from the scene of a crash.

Around 11:45pm on Tuesday, police were called for a crash at Howard Ave. and Tuson Way and found two vehicles with extensive front end damage.

Two men had left one of the vehicles and fled on foot.

During the investigation, officers learned the suspects may be in the area of Dougall Ave. and Cabana Rd.

The Canine Unit was called and Police Dog KATO located the suspected driver of the vehicle hiding in a wooded area behind a cement wall.

A 30-year-old Windsor man is facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash and breach of probation.

The female driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.
