Verlander Beats Detroit 3-2

Justin Verlander made a triumphant return to Detroit as the Astros trimmed the Tigers 3-2.

Verlander struck out 10 over seven innings of two-run ball against his former team to pick up his 15th win.  

Robert Osuna recorded his 16th save.

Tyler White and Marwin Gonzalez singled in runs in a three-run third for Houston, which has won eight-of-nine.  

Francisco Liriano allowed three runs, but all unearned, in six frames to take the loss.  

Dawel Lugo and Nicholas Castellanos drove in runs for Detroit, which lost its second straight.

Tonight, Jordan Zimmermann takes the mound for the Tigers, while the Astros counter with Framber Valdez.
