Verlander Dominates Former Team

Justin Verlander tossed a gem against his former team as the Houstson Astros dropped the Detroit Tigers 5-1 to sweep the three-game MLB series.

Verlander struck out nine over seven frames of one-run, two-hit ball to earn the win for Houston.

Alex Bregman went deep and Jake Marisnick drove in a pair of runs as the Astros improved to 29-and-15.

Gregory Soto was charged with the loss for Detroit.  JaCoby Jones prevented the shutout with a solo homer in the third inning.  

Detroit has lost its past three games and they'll host Oakland in MLB action on Thursday afternoon at 1:10pm.
