VIDEO: City Should Be Outraged After Vicious Beating Of An Elderly Woman
The surgeon who treated the victim of a brutal attack in east Windsor says "the city should be outraged."
Dr. Balraj Jhawar has been a neurosurgeon for the past 12 years at Windsor Regional Hospital’s Ouellette Campus.
He performed two surgeries on 75-year-old Sara Anne Widholm, the woman found unconscious after a vicious assault on the Ganatchio Trail on Sunday, October 8th.
Widholm remains in the hospital and Dr. Jhawar says the attack has left her with brain damage.
Jhawar tells CTV Windsor says he's seen lots of things over the years. "I don't know how this lady was injured but it was with magnitudes of force that were just massive."
"Assaulting a 75-year-old senior citizen, who's essentially defenceless, in this brutal manner, the city should be outraged", says Dr. Jhawar.
"It's so unfortunate now that people have to think twice about taking a morning walk," says Jhawar. "I've already heard from many people who are going to change their lifestyles now because of this incident."
21-year-old Habibullah "Daniel" Ahmed of Windsor is charged with aggravated assault in the case.
