VIDEO: Local Union President Passes Away

The president of Unifor Local 195 has passed away.

John Toth died on Thursday after a battle with cancer.

"He's a good leader, he's an intelligent leader in Local 195 and he will be missed by many many many people," says Local 195 2nd Vice President Emile Nabbout.   

Nabbout says Toth was a big part of the community and will be missed.

"I remember him being strong, being compassionate and he will never walk away from the fight when it's needed," says Nabbout.  

Toth became president of the local in June 2017.

He took over for Gerry Farnham who retired.

Prior to being president, Toth was the vice-president of the local.

He was 56-years-old.

Visitation is set for Monday at Windsor Chapel-Banwell location.
