Beautiful weather and a day of rest had Windsor bustling for St. Patrick's Day 2018.
The streets of downtown Windsor were jammed with party goers, and so was Walkerville.
O'Maggio's Kildare House co-owner Michelle Maggio tells AM800 News, line-ups are the norm when they open at 11am on St. Pat's, but there was a new twist this year.
"We had a line-up at 11am, actually, we had some people actually tailgating, which was a first," she says. "It's been fun, really fun."
She says the influx of people patiently waiting outside to get in continued through the day, but waiting is part of the business on St. Patrick's Day.
"The tent only holds around 450 people, so we're always very careful this time of year to make sure we keep under capacity," says Maggio.
Maggio says this year couldn't be more perfect for the big day.
"Mother nature has been on our side so that has a big influence on people," she says. "Being on a Saturday obviously I think people are just more inclined to come out on a Saturday than on a Monday or Tuesday."
Maggio adds, 2018 is the best turnout she's seen since the pub began it's tent party years ago.
The owners of @thekildarehouse say they’ve been lined up since 11am. With the great weather and a day of rest on the way #StPatricksDay2018 could be record setting. #cklw pic.twitter.com/54bnWLg8tE
