VIDEO: Police Arrest Three People In Downtown Windsor Shooting
Windsor police have arrested three men, including the alleged victim, in a downtown shooting last week.
On Friday, October 5th, at 1:45am, police were called to the corner of Maiden Lane and Ouellette Ave for a shooting.
It was the eighth shooting so far this year.
Police say a suspect approached a 28-year-old man and fired a gun at him. The suspect then ran.
After the incident, the alleged victim was seen pointing a gun and then handing the gun to another man.
The man who was shot suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigators were able to identify the three people involved and all have been arrested.
The 28-year-old man was also found to be carrying suspected drugs.
The alleged shooter was arrested by members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad and Windsor Police Emergency Services Unit on Wednesday, October 10 on Windsor Ave.
Police say this was a targeted incident and police have not found the two guns involved.
Constable Andy Drouillard says the incident is worrisome.
"We had a lot of innocent bystanders in the area, so it was definitely a scary situation for everyone involved, but a lot of times we learn in some cases, guns and drugs go hand-in-hand."
