VIDEO: Spitfires Select Centre with Sixth Pick in 2019 OHL Draft

With their first pick in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, the Windsor Spitfires selected centre Wyatt Johnston sixth overall.

Johnston had 46 goals and 46 assists last season with the Toronto Marlboros.

Windsor has 13 picks in total in the draft including the 41st selection in round two and the 67th selection in round four.

Forward Shane Wright went first overall to the Kingston Frontenacs.

The 15-year-old was granted exceptional-player status last month after a review by Hockey Canada.

Wright is just the sixth player to be given the status joining the likes of John Tavares, Aaron Ekblad and Connor McDavid.

Last season, the Spitfires selected Jean-Luc Foudy with their first pick tenth overall pick.
