Water Levels In The Great Lakes Are Up

Water levels in the Great Lakes are expected to be higher than average and higher than last year though the fall.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Detroit says above average rainfall in April and May pushed the lake levels higher than originally forecasted.

The summer water levels will be the highest since between 1996 and 1998 on Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and Lake St. Clair.

Lake Ontario's level in may set a record for the month, and the lake is expected to be at near record levels through this month before starting a seasonal decline.
