Windsor Cabbies Relieved Strike Is Over

Now that the strike is over at Caesars Windsor, local cab drivers are breathing a huge sigh of relief.

There is normally a line-up of taxis from Vets Cab waiting for pick-ups outside of the casino, but for the past two months, the strike has left a gapping hole in the business.

Cab driver Besnik Saliu says the last two months have been hard. "We lost a lot of business, even the city itself, I think it lost business."

"In a struggling industry like the cab industry, the strike hurt," says Saliu. "It is not big business but in a casino strike, it was extremely bad, I hope it is going to be better for city for everybody."

Caesars Windsor opens its doors again at 11am on Thursday.
