Windsor Clothing Drive Supporting Goodwill
A clothing drive spearheaded by Windsor's Sikh community has collected nearly 1000 winter apparel items for those in need.
The drive started four weeks ago by members of the Sikh Cultural Society of Metropolitan Windsor and the Windsor Sikh Youth Council.
Triman Singh is a member of the youth council and says it is important to give back to the community.
"The Sikhs are all about love and compassion for others," says Singh. "That is why we are paying this forward. We are helping out and partnered with Goodwill and all this winter clothing will go to Goodwill."
Singh is proud of the young people who stepped up for this clothing drive.
"It is just really awesome to see. It was all youth led. All the youth were the ones who led the entire drive. We collected the clothes on Sundays and it is awesome to see it be a success," says Singh.
The clothing has been donated to Goodwill Windsor.
