Windsor Doctor Faces Disciplinary Hearing Following Opioid Investigation
A Windsor doctor is facing a discipline hearing later this month following an opioid investigation by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Dr. Robert Cameron practices in Windsor at Sandwich St. and is facing allegations of professional misconduct.
The hearing is scheduled for March 26-29.
According to the college website, 'It is alleged that Dr. Cameron is incompetent and/or failed to maintain the standard of practice of the profession in his care of patients.'
In November 2016, the college began investigating some physicians related to their opioid prescriptions, based on data received from the provincial government's Narcotic Monitoring System.
In total, 84 physicians were investigated resulting in only one, Dr. Cameron, being referred to a discipline hearing.
Dr. Cameron has been disciplined in the past by the College of Physicians and Surgeons based on other incidents unrelated to opioids.
