Windsor Honours City's First And Only Female Mayor
Windsor has honoured a former mayor in the city.
A dedication ceremony took place Friday morning to unveil the "Elizabeth Kishkon Park" in the city's east end off Banwell Rd.
Kishkon was an alderman from 1970 -1971 and mayor from 1983-1985.
Kishkon was a fierce supporter of saving green space especially saving Peche Island from development and she fought to preserve Windsor's history in McKenzie Hall.
"I thank most of all the people who made this park possible, " she said. "I know in the early days it was a rough go to get the things behind you to create a park like this."

Kishkon says she is grateful to be honoured in a park setting.
"So onward and upward to the next park but let's enjoy this one,"
Mayor Drew Dilkens said Kishkon was a "tireless advocate to have residents consulted and involved".
