Windsor Man Charged In Child Porn Investigation

A 20-year-old Windsor man faces child pornography charges following an investigation dating back to last fall.

In October, Windsor police received a tip from the RCMP that someone in Windsor has uploaded child pornography to the internet.  Through investigation, officers from the Internet Child Exploitation unit determined the offences took place between September of 2015 and December of 2016.

Windsor Police Constable Andrew Drouillard says a location and a suspect were identified earlier this week.

"On Tuesday, officers obtained a search warrant to search that residence and, in doing that, placed the suspect under arrest and seized a quantity of computers and electronic storage devices," says Drouillard.

Drouillard says a number of pornography-related charges have been laid.

"These offences took place from September of 2015 through December of 2016 so some of these offences took place while he was a young offender under the age of 18," says Drouillard.  "So he facing three charges as a Y-O and three charges as an adult."

Police say none of the children involved appear to have local connections.
