Windsor Man Faces Charges After Trying To Evade OPP
A Windsor man is facing charges after an attempt to evade OPP over the weekend.
Police were trying to nab speeders on Hwy. 401 near Hwy. 19 in Ingersoll at around 11am Friday when the 23 year old failed to stop for patrol officers.
Officers chose not to engage in a vehicle pursuit, instead the man led the OPP's aviation unit through Middlesex County and then into Elgin County.
Provincial police managed to head the driver off on Sunset Rd. near Talbotville and deployed a tire deflation device to bring the vehicle to a safe stop.
No one was injured and the man was taken into custody — police say charges are still pending in relation to the incident.
