Windsor Murder Case Will Put Forensics To The Test

An unusual murder case in Windsor has caught the attention of the Wayne State Medical Examiner in Detroit.

30-year-old identical twins were charged with murder last month in the death of a man in west Windsor last fall.

Dr. Francisco Diaz believes developing evidence in the case will put forensics to the test. "It will be a matter of real forensic science, as simple as fingerprints. Even if you're identical twins you can have different fingerprints, it can be DNA but that's a real challenge."

"A case like this requires attention to detail," says Dr. Diaz. "That's when forensic science and the integration of all the fields come into play because I've seen identical twins that do things slightly different."

Dr. Diaz says it's cases like this one that keep him motivated to improve his craft of forensic pathology.

Dennis Christian Bercian and Eric Alexander Bercian, are charged with murder, forcible confinement and kidnapping.

3 others also face charges in the case and police are looking for a 6th.
