Windsor Police Dog Tracks Down Robbery Suspect

The Windsor police canine unit gets some credit in tracking down a robbery suspect.

Police were called Wednesday at 8pm for a man at Caron Ave. and Park Ave. west who had been robbed and assaulted.

The victim said he was walking with the suspect on Bruce Ave. when the suspect suggested they stop at a friend's house.

Once inside, the victim saw two unknown men and the suspect turned on him demanding money.

The victim was assaulted and robbed but managed to break free and call police — he was treated by paramedics.

Officers were able to identify the suspect who was located at a home and was seen jumping out of a window but police dog Rony arrived and managed to track him down.

A 29-year-old man of Windsor is charged with robbery and assault with a weapon.

The outstanding suspect is described as a white male, 5'10, late 20's - early 30's, 180lbs, brown hair, wearing black pants.
