Windsor Police Unveil Cruiser To Mark 150th Anniversary

The Windsor Police Service has unveiled a new cruiser to mark the 150th anniversary of the service.

The 2017 Dodge Charger has been assigned the vehicle number 6744, the badge number of Senior Constable John Atkinson, who was shot and killed in May of 2006.

Chief Al Frederick says the vehicle is a fully functional patrol car. "You can see the technology, the communications, the safety equipment that's in there.  It's fully functional, it's exactly identical to all our other cruisers that will be this model year, that as we go forward, will be indoctrinated into the fleet."

The cruiser will be on display at various events during the week of May 1st to May 5th.
