Windsor's Hot Real Estate Market Continues

A money-making weekend for a local real estate agent and his sellers.

Shan Hasan of Real LePage Realty says he sold a house in Olde Riverside for $100,000 over the asking price.

He says the home hit the market last Wednesday with an open house taking place this past Sunday.

Hasan says roughly 150 couples walked through the doors for the open house.

He says there were more than 30 offers.

"We put it on the market and generally the showings started, but I was blown away when we did the open house which God bless the weather was incredible fell perfectly in line but we ended up having approximately 150 different couples come through that house," says Hasan.  "It was an absolute train station."

He describes the activity on the house as "insane."

"We ended up having over 30 offers on this property and when time came and we reviewed offers on Monday.  We did break the $100,000 over list mark which was incredible," says Hasan.

He says the house was on the market for a few days before it sold.

"I literally throw it on the market starting Wednesday and we held offers, market it extremely heavy and you know what the City of Windsor, it is absolutely a seller's market," says Hasan.  "There's just not enough inventory."

Hasan says his clients were in tears after seeing the offers.

Back in 2017, Hasan sold a house in east Windsor for $105,000 over the asking price.

Hasan says the market remains strong and buyers are willing to bid more because of the lack of inventory in the area.

The Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors' latest monthly statistics show the average selling price in April was more than $354,000.
