Windsor West PC Candidate Confident In Leadership Results

The newly leader of Ontario's Progressive Conservative party is no longer being challenged by his main rival, who refused to concede for nearly a day.

Doug Ford defeated Christine Elliott after a more than seven hour delay following Saturday's leadership vote in which she noted "serious irregularities."

But in a statement Sunday acknowledging Ford's victory, Elliott says she is "confident in the results" of the election.

Windsor West Ontario PC candidate Adam Ibrahim was in Toronto for the big day. He's also confident in the outcome of the vote. "The party and the candidates and the caucus members, we're moving forward and we're going to work as a united front and keep in mind the goal of defeating [Ontario Premier] Kathleen Wynne and the Liberal Government and the NDP.,"

Ibrahim is confident Ford will bring change to Ontario for the PC Party.
