Winning Start For Junior Selects

A strong start for the Windsor Junior Selects at the Under-21 national baseball championship in the Ottawa/Gatineau region.

Jeremy Orton had a double and home run and drove in two runs to lead the Junior Selects to a 13-0 win over Manitoba.

The offense pounded out nine hits with Mitchell Hudvanger and Louis Jodoin each with two RBI's.

Jack Zimmerman picked up the win on the mound, scattering three hits and striking out two.

The Junior Selects are back in action Friday at 12pm against Newfoundland/Labrador.

At the Under-18 Canadian championship in London, the Tecumseh Thunder had their game against Quebec rained out.

The Ontario champs will play BC at noon on Friday and Quebec at 8:00pm.
