Winter Storm Downgraded
Windsor is going to miss the bulk of the storm that had been predicted over the weekend.
The forecast was calling for a storm to hit this region to start the work week, dumping up to 25 cm of snow.
But now, about 5 cm of snow is expected during the day today, with another 2 to 4 cm of snow during the evening and overnight hours.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Ryan Rozinskis says it'll be windy as well, with gusts to 50 km/h. "We're looking at the winds picking up from the northeast resulting in blowing snow. The snow will be fairly light on the ground because of the cooler temperatures. That's going to reduce visibility and make travel a little bit more difficult."
Rozinskis says it's possible the track of the storm may shift bringing higher snowfall amounts.
Areas to the east are still expected to get hit with as much as 15 to 25 cm predicted in the Hamilton-Niagara area.
