Wolfhead Distillery In Amherstburg Wins Gold For Its Vodka
An Amherstburg distillery has received some high praise.
Wolfhead Distillery earned eight different awards from the American Distilling Institute's annual judging of craft spirits.
It won the gold medal for its vodka in the 'International Grain to Glass Vodka.'
It also took four bronze medals for its Banana Caramel Vodka, Grapefruit Vodka, Whisky and Coffee Whisky Liqueur.
Brand Ambassador Kate DiPierdomenico says the American Distilling Institute is a highly respected organization devoted to judging craft spirits.
"Each year both the U.S and international entries are tasted and they are blind tasted," she says. "They are evaluated by the expert panel of judges made up of distillers, journalists and bar owners."
She says they are very excited about the message the awards send out for residents to explore their own region and what's in their own backyard.
Wolfhead first opened in May 2016.
It was the first craft distillery to open in Essex County since Prohibition.
