Yankees and Tigers Both Win

Gio Urshela belted two homers for the second straight game as the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 12-6 to extend their winning streak to nine.

Mike Tauchman also homered and drove in four for New York.

Domingo Germán worked five innings for his 15th win, tied for most in the majors.

Bo Bichette homered and also doubled in his ninth straight game to set a major league record for Toronto.

Derek Fisher and Reese McGuire hit solo shots in defeat.  The Jays have lost four of their last six.

In other MLB action in the Majors Jordy Mercer hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 10-8 win over the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.  

Harold Castro smashed a three-run shot, while Miguel Cabrera and Travis Demeritte each had a solo home run in the win.  

Outfielder JaCoby Jones left the game after he was hit in the wrist by a pitch in the second inning.
